The objective of the National Savings Time Deposit (TD) scheme is to promote safe and fixed-term savings by offering assured returns, encouraging individuals to invest regularly with flexible deposit amounts and no upper limit.

No additional interest shall be payable on the amount of interest that has become due for payment but not withdrawn by the account holder. The annual interest may be credited either to the Post Office Savings Account or Bank Account of the customer if mandate (standing instruction/ ECS mandate) is given in writing. The investment under 5-year TD qualifies for the benefit of section 80C of Income Tax Act, 1961

The primary goal of this scheme is to bridge the gap in practical experience for fresh Graduate Engineers, Diploma holders, and 10+2 Vocational pass-outs in approximately 10,000 industrial establishments. The apprentices undergo a one-year training period, receiving a monthly stipend.

Engineering Graduate: ₹4,984 per month Technicians: ₹3,542 per month 10+2 Vocational pass-outs: ₹2,758 per month 3. The stipend is shared equally between the Central Government and the employer, with the employer initially paying the full stipend and later claiming 50% reimbursement from the Central Government through the respective Boards of Apprenticeship/Practical (BOATs/BOPT).

The National Scheme of Incentive to Girls for Secondary Education promotes the girl child's enrolment of 14-18 years age group at secondary stage, who passes class 8th and subsequently drops out for various socio-economic reasons.

Benefit: A sum of ₹3000/- would be deposited under term deposit/ fixed deposit in a public sector bank or in a post office in the name of every eligible girl child. The term/ period of the deposit may be counted from the date of deposit to the date on which the girl child attains the age of 18 years. No premature withdrawal will be allowed.

The National Scheme of Welfare of Fishermen provides financial assistance to fishermen. They can use these for constructing houses and community halls for both recreation and work purposes. Further, through the amount availed under this scheme, fishermen can install tube wells.

There is no upper limit for building homes in a particular village as it entirely depends on the number of fishermen residing. States through this scheme ensure equal distribution of houses among all fishermen. Also, this government-backed scheme dictates the house construction with a base area within 35 sq. mt. Also, the cost must not exceed ₹75,000. Construction of Common Facility This government-backed scheme ensures building a community hall in some instances if there are more than 75 houses in a village. This scheme will build a community hall (with two toilets and a tube well) with a base area measuring 200 sq. mt. and within ₹2 lakh. Fishermen can use this community hall as a mending shed and a drying yard. Assurance of Clean Drinking Water This scheme offers a tube well for every 20 houses. Also, depending on the requirement, the number of tube wells is increased. In addition, this scheme provides an alternative option where tubewell installation is not possible. Insurance Facility (For Group Accident Insurance for Active Fishermen)- This scheme provides fisherfolk or licensed or identified or registered with the States or Union Territory ₹50,000 in case of death or permanent total disability. Also, this scheme provides ₹25,000 for partial permanent disability. Here, the insurance cover will continue for 12 months, and FISHCOPFED would take out a policy. Also, under this scheme, the affected fishermen will have to pay an annual premium worth ₹15 (per head). Here, the Central Government will pay 50%, and the State Government will pay the remaining 50% subsidy as grants-in-aid. In the case of Union Territories, the Central Government will bear a 100% premium. On the other hand, those States/UT’s, which subscribed to this Group Accident Insurance for Active Fishermen through FISHCOPFED, will get a Central share of assistance (100% premium for Union Territories) directly through FISHCOPFED and not through States/UT’s. Saving cum relief The National Scheme of Welfare of Fishermen further offers a savings cum relief scheme. This scheme component collects ₹75 from marine fishermen for 8 months in a year. Total ₹600 needs to be collected to match an equal amount worth ₹600 provided by the State and Central Government to segregate on a 50:50 basis. If any fishermen fail to make payment, the authorities will refund the paid amount with interest at the end of the 4th month. Also, the ‘lean months’ provisions vary from a coastal area or marine area, which FISHCOPFED decides entirely. Now that individuals know about this government scheme for fishermen, i.e. the National Scheme of Welfare of Fishermen, they avail funds and construct houses of their own.

Benefit: An amount of ₹1.5 lakhs per month will be given to the awardee as a fellowship. 1. The Research Grant in this case will be ₹5 lakhs per annum. 1. For overhead expenses, ₹1.0 lakh per annum will be given to the host institution. Note: The grant shall be used for manpower, equipment, travel (including international), contingency, etc. It needs to be utilized as per the norms of the Host Institute. Items purchased out of the contingency grant will be the property of the Host Institute after the completion of tenure. However, in certain listed items, their retention by the awardee will be decided in accordance with the existing government rules and regulations on the subject.

The “National Solar Science Fellowship Programme” of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy was launched in February 2011. The aim of the National Solar Science Fellowship Programme is to provide a platform to top-quality scientists and engineers in the area of solar energy research.

Benefit: Each selected Fellow will receive a total annual grant of up to ₹32.00 lakhs comprising (i) emolument of up to ₹12.00 lakhs (ii) contingencies of up to ₹5.00 lakhs and (iii) research grant of up to ₹15.00 lakhs. This will be pro-rated for the duration of the tenure of the particular Fellow. 1. This grant will be released to the host institution for being granted to the Fellow. 1. The Fellow may also raise additional resources from other sources such as the host Institution, grant providers, grant-in-aid Institutions, etc. for the purpose of carrying out his/her research. Note 01: On selection, the Fellow will be attached to one of the selected schools/institutions in consultation with the Fellow as well as the host institution. Note 02: Selected Fellows shall commit to work at the host institution for the full tenure of the fellowship and shall submit a bond in this regard to the host institution. Note 03: The Fellow must submit quarterly progress reports and a final technical report to the Fellowship Management Committee. The Fellowship Management Committee may from time to time, seek updates from the Fellow and provide inputs and guidance to the project of the Fellows so that the project remains relevant to the Government of India agenda and can be successfully completed on time. Note 04: An annual conference of the Fellows will be held, where the Fellows will be expected to present their findings to the Fellowship Management Committee and other invitees and share knowledge and learning and discuss areas for further collaboration and practical application of their research. Note 05: There would be a visible improvement in the quality of solar technology through the application of innovative solutions/technologies in the field arising out of the research under the programme. Note 06: The resources in terms of manpower and infrastructural facilities available at various schools/ institutions of the country would be enhanced /strengthened.

The National Startup Awards by Startup India aims to recognize and reward outstanding startups and ecosystem enablers building innovative products or solutions and scalable enterprises.

A volunteership scheme by Ministry of Youth Affairs And Sports to tap the potential of the disciplined and dedicated youth In the age group of 18 to 29 years who have the inclination and spirit to engage in nation building exercises, to serve up to two years in Nation Building activities.

Benefit: An honorarium of ₹ 5000 per month is provided for serving up to two years (including the period of training which will be for 4 weeks) in the identified development activities on a full-time basis.

The Nationwide Artificial Insemination Programme (NAIP), is a flagship program of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. The objective of the programme is to increase the productivity of livestock by improving the genetic potential through artificial insemination.

Benefit: Increased fertility rate: The programme will help to increase the fertility rate by providing access to artificial insemination services. This will help to improve the fertility rate of cows, buffaloes, goats and sheep in the state. 1. Improved quality of livestock: The programme will help to improve the quality of livestock through the use of improved semen from superior bulls. This will help to improve the production of milk and meat as well as the quality of the animals. 1. Improved animal health: Artificial insemination will help to improve the health of animals by reducing the spread of diseases. “Natural Calamity Relief to Fishermen of State” is a scheme by the Dept of Fisheries, Govt of Goa. Through this scheme, financial assistance is provided to the active fishermen who contribute to the Fishermen Corpus Relief Fund, whose fishing vessels are damaged or lost due to natural calamities.

The Art and Culture Department, Government of Tamil Nadu was launched the scheme "Natural Death and Funeral Assistance". This scheme provides financial assistance for the funeral and natural death of registered folk artistes to support their families during difficult times.

"Natural Death Assistance for the Construction Workers" by the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Labour Dept., Delhi, is a welfare scheme that provides financial assistance of ₹1,00,000/- to the nominees/dependents of the members in case of natural death of the worker.

Benefit: Financial assistance of ₹1,00,000/- is provided to the nominees/dependents of the members in case of natural death of the worker.

The "Natural Death Benefit Scheme" is a Welfare Scheme by the Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Labour Department, Union Territory of Puducherry. Through this scheme, financial assistance of ₹70,000/- is extended to the nominees/dependents of the deceased.
