In order to prevent child marriages and support marriage expense of financially distressed families, on 02nd October 2014, Government of Telangana (GoTS) introduced a welfare scheme called “Shaadi Mubarak’’, providing financial assistance for marriages of minority community girls.

Benefit: Under the Scheme, one-time financial assistance of ₹1,00,116 /- at the time of marriage shall be granted to every unmarried girl belonging to the minority community with effect from October 2, 2014 subject to the eligibility condition. 1. The financial assistance of ₹1,25,145/- is provided to the parents of disabled girls. Note: The "Shaadi Mubarak" is only a one-time financial assistance and can be availed only once in a lifetime.

The "Shagun Yojana" aims to assist BPL families with financial aid for the marriage of their daughters. A grant of ₹31,000 is provided to the girl/women.

Benefit: A one-time financial grant of ₹31,000 is provided for the marriage of BPL girls/women. NOTE: The grant is given to parents/guardians or the girl herself (if her parents are not alive/traceable). The grant can be disbursed up to 2 months before the proposed date of marriage. If the marriage has already taken place, the grant may be claimed within 6 months of the marriage date.

The "Shramashakthi Special Women's Scheme" is a special scheme for the economic empowerment of widowed, divorced, unmarried women of the minority community.

Benefit: Financial Assistance: A total of ₹50,000/- is provided, comprising ₹25,000/- as a loan and ₹25,000/- as a subsidy.

The Shubshakti Yojana has been initiated by the Rajasthan government with the aim of providing financial assistance to regular construction workers, unmarried laborers, and their daughters.

Benefit: Receives a financial assistance of ₹55,000/-. The amount is directly transferred to the beneficiary's bank account. The funds can be used for various purposes, including: 1. Higher education 1. Vocational training 1. Starting a business 1. Skill development training 1. Marriage expenses

The scheme “Sikkim Unmarried Women Pension Scheme (SUWPS)” was launched in 2013 by the Department of Women & Child Welfare, Govt. of Sikkim. Under this scheme, the unmarried women of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in Sikkim would receive a pension of ₹ 2000/- per month.

Benefit: A monthly pension of ₹ 2,000/- per beneficiary.

The Telangana Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board offers a 90-day non-residential skill development training programme specifically designed for unemployed girls and women who are dependents of registered construction workers.

Benefit: Skill Development: Gain hands-on experience and technical skills in curtain and garment stitching (tailoring). Domestic Sewing Machine: Each participant receives a domestic sewing machine upon completion of the training, included in the training fee. Duration: The programme lasts 90 days, with a total of 600 hours of training.

The Government of Kerala has launched the “Snehasparsham” scheme to protect and help unwed mothers. The problems of unwed mothers are linked with various socio-economic and cultural variables.

Benefit: Under the scheme, financial assistance of ₹1000/- per month will be given to unwed mothers.

The scheme “Snehayanam Scheme for Mothers of Persons with Special Needs” was launched by the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala.

Benefit: Under the scheme, Electric Auto Rickshaws will be provided free of cost to mothers of persons with disabilities who suffer financially.

The scheme “Soft Loan Scheme for Women Entrepreneurs” was started under Kerala Startup Mission to support women startups with a soft loan of an amount limited to ₹15 Lakhs as working capital for implementing works & projects received from Govt. departments and Public Sector Undertaking in Kerala.

Benefit: Soft Loan against Purchase order will be given to Women Entrepreneurs at the rate of 6% per annum on simple interest. 1. The amount of the loan is limited to 80% of the Purchase order and disbursement is as an advance against the milestone payment agreed by the client. 1. The repayment period of the loan is 1 year or completion of the project with full settlement whichever is earlier. 1. The maximum amount of loan outstanding will be ₹15 lakhs. Note: The Startup shall ensure the proper delivery of the product service specified in the purchase order and the disbursement from the second installment will be based on the satisfactory completion of a milestone as certified by the client.

The scheme aims to empower tribal women artisans through specialized training and marketing opportunities and ensures the provision of financial assistance for travel, logistics, and stall rent for participating artisans.

Benefit: Training Incentives: - Training is provided in various crafts based on market demand, along with popular crafts traditionally practiced by Tharu, Boxa, and other tribal women. - The duration of the training program is two months, with a maximum of 25 training days per month. Each participant undergoes 5 hours of training per day, making a total of 250 training hours for the entire program. Marketing Promotions: - Artisans are given priority participation in traditional fairs, exhibitions, and district-level handloom exhibitions organized at the district level. - For marketing promotion, the Government of India and the State Government provide space for the display and sale of products created by artisans during various programs, exhibitions, and India International Trade Fairs organized from time to time within the state and across the country. - The minimum travel fare for women participating in these exhibitions/fairs, maximum freight of ₹1,000/- per artisan for transporting their products, and stall rent are all borne by the State Government.

A social welfare scheme by the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, for Poor Girls of Marriageable Age who belong to either AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) or PHH (Priority Households) ration card holder families. The scheme is operational in all the districts across the UT.

Benefit: The eligible beneficiary girl shall receive an amount of ₹50,000/- (rupees fifty thousand only) as one-time financial assistance before her marriage. The financial assistance shall be directly transferred into the individual bank accounts of the beneficiaries (marriageable girls) through DBT mode.

"Merit Scholarship to Undergraduate Girl Students" aims to promote higher education among meritorious girl students by providing a scholarship amount of ₹3,000 per annum to 10 eligible girl students per government college who have excelled in their 10+2 examination.

Benefit: Scholarship Amount ₹3,000/- per student per annum. Awarded to 10 girl students per government college. Conditions for Scholarship Renewal The scholarship is tenable for three years during undergraduate studies. To continue receiving the scholarship, the applicant must secure at least 55% marks in the qualifying examination each year. If an applicant cannot appear for the annual exam due to illness, renewal may be granted upon submission of a valid medical certificate approved by the Head of the Institution. Mode Disbursement Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Validity Only for students pursuing general academic courses in Government Colleges. Scholarship renewal depends on satisfactory progress and conduct. The scholarship may be revoked or changed at any time at the discretion of the government.

“SUBHADRA” Scheme is a flagship initiative by the Government of Odisha aimed at financially empowering women, improving their socio-economic status, and promoting their safety and well-being.

Benefit: SUBHADRA Card: All beneficiaries receive a SUBHADRA card (ATM-cum-debit card) to enhance identity and empowerment. - Financial Support: Eligible beneficiaries receive a total of ₹50,000/- over 5 years (₹10,000/- annually between 2024-25 to 2028-29). - Digital Transactions Incentive: Top 100 women in each Gram Panchayat/Urban Local Body with the highest number of digital transactions in a year receive an additional ₹500/-.

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to Haryana Domiciled Widow, Divorced, and Legally Separated Women. Through this scheme, a subsidy on the total loan is provided.

Benefit: A 25% flat subsidy, subject to a maximum of ₹50,000/-, will be provided on the total loan (not as a capital subsidy). The beneficiary's share is 10% of the total loan. The maximum loan limit is ₹3,00,000/-. The scheme will be covered under without collateral security by the bank. The balance amount will be covered from commercial/nationalised banks. Mode of Disbursement: The balance amount will be covered from commercial/nationalised banks. Moratorium Period: The moratorium period will be three months after disbursement of the loan.

The scheme “Subsidy Scheme for Establishment of Goat Unit (10+1) for Scheduled Tribe Women” was launched by the Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation, Government of Gujarat to uplift Economically poor livestock breeders of Gujarat State.

Benefit: 50% Subsidy on Unit Cost or Maximum ₹45,000/-. 1. Benefit of the scheme will be available once in a lifetime.

The "Subsidy Scheme for Self-help Groups of Minorities" aimed at empowering minority women by providing financial support to Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The scheme offers a subsidy to SHGs engaged in various self-employment activities, promoting economic self-reliance among minority women.

Benefit: Subsidy Amount: 50% of the unit cost or a maximum of ₹2,00,000/- to the self-help groups. NOTE: The subsidy will be adjusted against the repayment of the loan taken by the SHG from recognized financial institutions. SHGs focusing on good internal loan repayment will be given higher priority for the subsidy.

This scholarship provides financial assistance to all deserving students who want to pursue higher studies. Under this scholarship scheme, the students fulfilling the eligibility criteria will receive a maintenance allowance and other benefits.

Benefit: Reimbursement of Admission and Hostel Fee. 1. Maintenance Allowances will be given of ₹1,500/- per month for Hostellers and ₹500/- for Day Scholars. 1. Reimbursable cost of uniform ₹3,000/-. 1. Maintenance Allowances ₹1,000/- per month for Apprenticeship Training after ITI inside the state and ₹1,500/- per month for outside the state. 1. One Month Maintenance Allowances of ₹5,000/- after completion of 6 months on Jobs outside the State. Note 01: Benefits will be directly transferred to the bank account of the student. Note 02: Maintenance Allowances shall be released on a half-yearly basis. Note 03: ST, SC, OBC, Minority, Children of BOC Workers, PwD, MCP, Merit, and other stipend/scholarship holders will get differential amounts only.

Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹500/- per month are provided to the widows and deserted women who are living below poverty line (BPL) to support them in living a respectful life.

Benefit: Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive financial assistance of ₹500/- per month. Note: The amount of assistance will be directly transferred to the applicant's bank account.

The scheme aims to provide assured, dignified, and completely free healthcare services to all pregnant women, mothers, and newborns at public health facilities.

Benefit: Under SUMAN, beneficiaries are entitled to the following free and cashless services at designated public health facilities: Maternal Health Services Minimum 4 Antenatal Care (ANC) check-ups, including one in the first trimester At least one check-up under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) Free and cashless normal delivery and Caesarean section (C-section) Management of pregnancy-related complications Newborn & Infant Care Free care for sick newborns and infants Zero-dose vaccinations (as per the government schedule) 6 Home-Based Newborn Care (HBNC) visits Early initiation and support for breastfeeding Transport & Logistics Free transport from home to the health facility Inter-facility referral transport Drop-back facility after discharge Other Entitlements Free drugs, diagnostics, and blood services Postnatal care and counseling, including family planning Respectful maternity care, ensuring dignity, privacy, and choice Zero out-of-pocket expenditure for all entitled services

A fellowship scheme by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for Single Girl Child for research in Social Sciences with an aim to compensate for direct costs of higher education, especially for such girls who happen to be the only girl child in their family.

Benefit: Financial Assistance The financial assistance available under the scheme is as follows: Fellowship @ ₹25,000/- per month for the Initial two years; @ ₹28,000/- per month for the remaining tenure. Contingency @ ₹10,000/- per annum for initial two years; @ ₹20,500/- per annum for remaining tenure. Escort Reader Assistance @ ₹2,000/- per month in case of PWD candidates. Slots The number of slots for the fellowship may be decided every year on the basis of eligible applications complete in all respects, received through online mode. Tenure The tenure of the fellowship is for five years and will be effective from 1st April of the selection year or the actual date of joining under the fellowship in the University/College/Institute, whichever is later. Fellowship will be granted up to the date of submission of Ph.D. Thesis or 5 years of tenure whichever is earlier. No extension is permissible beyond the total period of five years, and the fellow ceases to be a UGC research fellow immediately after the expiry of the due date. HRA Suitable single-seated hostel accommodation may be provided to the candidates in the institutions. In such cases, the fellow is eligible to draw only hostel fees excluding mess, electricity, water charges, etc. A certificate to this effect is to be furnished through the Registrar/Director/Principal. HRA is not permissible for those candidates who are staying in Hostel accommodation. In case of non-availability of hostel accommodation, the fellow may be provided with single accommodation by the host institution. In such cases, the rent paid by the fellow on an actual basis may be reimbursed subject to the ceiling of HRA as per Govt. of India norms. If the fellow makes her own arrangements of accommodation, she may be entitled to draw HRA as per the categorization of cities by the Govt. of India. Note: In all the above cases, the fellow will submit a relevant certificate ([Annexure-VI](https://www.ugc.gov.in/pdfnews/1555717_guidelines-SWAMI-Vivekananda.pdf)) through the concerned University/College/Institute to the identified Agency for settling the claim. Medical No separate/fixed medical assistance is provided. However, the fellow may avail of the medical facilities available in the Universities/Colleges/Institutes. Leave Leave for a maximum period of 30 days in a year in addition to the public holidays that may be taken by the candidate. However, they are not entitled to any other vacation, such as summer, winter, and pooja vacations. Maternity leave as per the Govt. of India norms issued from time to time would be available at full rates of the fellowship once during the tenure of their award. Academic leave (without fellowship and other emoluments) shall be permissible only for one year throughout the tenure (for any kind of academic/teaching assignment/foreign visit in connection with research work). The period of leave without fellowship will be counted towards the tenure. Expenditure on foreign visits in connection to research work cannot be claimed by UGC Note: All kinds of leave should be approved at the level of the University/College/Institute.
