"National Fellowship for OBC Students" was launched by the University Grants Commission (UGC) during the financial year 2014-15 to increase the opportunities for the students of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to pursue higher education leading to acquiring degrees such as M.Phil. and Ph.D.

Benefit: Number of Slots for Fellowship - The total number of slots for NFOBC under the scheme is 1000 per year. Out of 1000 slots available under this scheme, 750 will be allocated for the subjects under National Eligibility Test – Junior Research Fellowship (NET-JRF) of UGC and the remaining 250 UGC-Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (UGC-CSIR) NET-JRF joint test (for Science streams). These 1000 slots will be over and above the OBC Students selected under the normal reservation policy of the Government. Duration of Fellowship - Name of the Course: M.Phil. Presently these rates are as follows: Fellowship in Science, Humanities, and Social Science @ ₹ 31,000/- p.m. for initial two years (JRF) @ ₹ 35,000/- pm. for remaining tenure (SRF) Fellowship in Engineering & Technology @ ₹ 31,000/- p.m. for initial two years (JRF) @ ₹ 35,000/- pm. for remaining tenure (SRF) Contingency for Humanities & Social Sciences @ ₹ 10,000/- p.a. for initial two years @ ₹ 20,500/- p.a. for remaining tenure Contingency for Sciences, Engineering & Technology @ ₹ 12,000/- p.a. for initial two years @ ₹ 25,000/- p.a. for remaining tenure Escorts/Reader assistance (All subjects) @ ₹ 2,000/- p.m. in cases of physically and visually handicapped candidates House Rent Allowance HRA will be on the UGC pattern and will be payable to those students who are not provided with hostel accommodation. In case hostel accommodation offered by the University/institution is refused, the student will forfeit his claim of HRA, and other facilities such as medical facilities, and leave including maternity leave will be governed as per the guidelines of the UGC in case of their fellowship program.

A general loan scheme by the Ministry of Social Justice for Indian citizens from backward classes for various income-generating activities. Loan up to ₹15 Lakh per beneficiary for pursuing income-generating activities.

Benefit: Loan assistance of up to ₹15,00,000/- for income-generating activities such as agriculture and allied activities, small business, artisan and traditional occupations, transport sector, service sector, and technical/professional trades or courses. NBCFDC finances 85% of the project cost, while 15% is contributed by the Channel Partner and/or beneficiary. Concessional interest rates ranging from 6% to 8% per annum, depending on the loan amount. Repayment in quarterly instalments over a maximum period of 8 years, including a 6-month moratorium on recovery of the principal amount.

This scheme provides educational loans of up to ₹15.00 lakh to students belonging to the Rabari and Bharwad castes from socially and educationally backward classes for pursuing higher professional courses such as medical, dental, engineering, pharmacy, etc.

Self-employment loan scheme for Rabari and Bharwad women in Gujarat, offering up to ₹2 lakh at 5% annual interest to promote economic independence.

Benefit: 100% loan assistance provided to eligible women- Loan amount up to ₹2.00 lakh- Interest rate fixed at 5% per annum- Loan can be used to start a business of the beneficiary’s choice- Meant for economically backward women of specific castes- Encourages entrepreneurship and self-reliance

The scheme aims to provide a special scheme for the self-employment of women from backwards classes living below the poverty line. Through this scheme, financial assistance for chosen businesses is offered to female beneficiaries from socially and educationally backward classes.

Benefit: Loan Amount: The maximum loan limit under this scheme is up to ₹200,000/- per beneficiary.1. Interest Rate: The interest rate in these schemes will be 5% per annum.1. Loan Coverage: 95% of unit cost financed by the national corporation (NBCFDC), 5% by the state government. Repayment Terms: Repayable in 60 equal monthly installments, including interest. Mode of Disbursement: The loan amount is disbursed, with 95 percent of the unit cost from the national corporation and 5 percent from the state government.

The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department offers a Pre Matric Scholarship for Other Backward Class (OBC) students. This scholarship aims to financially assist students from these categories to pursue secondary education and complete their matriculation.

Benefit: ₹150/- per months (for max 10 months). ₹750/- per annum (residential students).

The scheme aims to support Other Backward Class (OBC) students of Uttarakhand from Class 11th onwards by providing financial assistance for their education, including tuition fees and other academic expenses.

Benefit: Total Amount = Educational Allowance + Tuition fee - Group 1: ₹20,000/- (₹10,000/- + ₹10,000/-) - Group 2: ₹13,000/- (₹8,000/- + ₹5,000/-) - Group 3: ₹8,000/- (₹6,000/- + ₹2,000/-) - Group 4: ₹5,000/- (₹5,000/- + ₹ 0)

"Pashupalan Dhiran Yojana" by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department provides loan assistance for animal husbandry to Rabari and Bharwad castes from the socially and educationally backward classes.

Benefit: Financial Assistance: Loan up to ₹1,30,000/- for animal husbandry. Note: Loan Amount: 95%- Beneficiary Contribution: 5%

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the meritorious Higher Secondary School Students of Odisha having proficiency in Mathematics.

Benefit: The students of Class XI and XII fulfilling the eligibility criteria will receive ₹5,000/- per month for 10 months in a year. A student may enjoy more than one scholarship at a time, including PSMTS.

The scheme aimed at supporting students from the Backward Classes (BC), Most Backward Classes (MBC), and Denotified Communities (DNC) in Tamil Through financial assistance to students securing the top two ranks in the 12th Public examination in each district.

Benefit: Financial Assistance: ₹5,000/- per annum for a duration of 4 to 5 years.

Under Pichda Varg Post Matric Chhatravritti Madhya Pradesh Government aimed at providing financial assistance to economically disadvantaged students belonging to these marginalized communities.

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the OBC, EBC and DNT students studying at post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education.

The objective of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC, and DNT students (who are not covered under SC, ST, or OBC) is welfare and motivation to the children of these categories by providing financial assistance at pre-matriculation or secondary stage.

Benefit: Coverage Value of Scholarship: - The students shall be given a consolidated academic allowance of ₹4,000/- per annum. Note: The entire scholarship amount both from the State and Central Government will be paid directly into the account of the students or parents ONLY through DBT preferably through an Aadhaar Based Payment System (Aadhaar Payment Bridge-AePS).

The objective of the scheme is to recognize and promote quality education amongst Students belonging to OBC, EBC and DNT categories by providing full financial support. The Scheme will cover OBC/EBC/DNT students for pursuing studies beyond Class XII.

Benefit: The OBC/EBC/DNT students, who secure admission in the notified institutions, will be awarded scholarships to meet the requirements for:- 1. Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges (there will be a ceiling of ₹2.00 lakhs per annum per student for private sector institutions and ₹3.72 lakhs per annum per student for the private sector flying clubs for Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses) 1. Living expenses to the beneficiary @₹3,000/-per month per student 1. Books and stationery @ ₹5,000/- per annum per student 1. A latest computer/laptop of a reputed brand with accessories like UPS and printer limited to ₹45,000/- per student as one-time assistance during the course. Note 01: The scholarship will become payable immediately after a student has secured admission and has started attending the classes. Note 02: The payment of tuition fees and other non-refundable charges will be made directly to the institution by the Central Government through Direct Benefit Transfer mode. Note 03: Similarly, the payment of living expenses, books & stationery, and computer/laptop with accessories will be made directly to the student by the Central Government through Direct Benefit Transfer mode.

The objective of the scheme is to provide premium education to the meritorious students belonging to OBC, EBC, and DNT categories by funding their education from Class 9 onwards till they complete Class 12.

Benefit: The grants will be provided for tuition fee, hostel fee, and other charges as required by the school, subject to a maximum of ₹75,000/- per annum per student of Class 9 and 10 and ₹1,25,000/- per annum per student of Class 11 and 12. Note 01: The release of funds will be directly into the account of beneficiaries through DBT mode. Note 02: Payment shall be made in installments to be released before 15th August each year.

This scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Other Backward Classes students studying at the post-matriculation stage to enable students to complete their education.

Benefit: The benefit of the scholarship depends on the annual family income of the students, institution, course, course subscriber, fee capping, etc. All students whose annual family income is up to Rs 3,00,000, those students will be eligible for a 100% scholarship.

Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC & DNT students of UT domicile with parental income below ₹2.5 lakh p.a. Academic allowance ₹5,000–₹20,000 p.a. for eligible courses. Online/correspondence students get tuition fees only. Institutes must have AISHE/UDISE code and NAAC/NBA accreditation.

Benefit: The scholarship includes the following components for the complete duration of the course: Sl. The scheme aims to enable eligible Scheduled Tribe students to undertake quality education from the post-matriculation to the post-graduate level. It provides financial assistance covering compulsory course fees and monthly stipends for intended beneficiaries, including hostellers and day scholars.

Benefit: Fee Component The scheme covers the payment of compulsory non-refundable fees for the recognized post-matriculation or post-secondary course pursued by the student. There is a fee ceiling of ₹2,50,000/- per annum per student for Engineering courses in private sector institutes. There is a fee ceiling of ₹6,00,000/- per annum per student for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Master of Surgery, and Doctor of Medicine courses in private sector institutes. There is a fee ceiling of ₹1,00,000/- per annum per student for all other courses in private sector institutes. Monthly Stipend (Payable For A Maximum Of 10 Months Annually) For Group I (Degree and Post Graduate professional courses): Hostellers receive ₹1,200/- per month (₹12,000/- annually), and day scholars receive ₹550/- per month (₹5,500/- annually). For Group II (Non-professional Degree and Post Graduate courses): Hostellers receive ₹820/- per month (₹8,200/- annually), and day scholars receive ₹530/- per month (₹5,300/- annually). For Group III (Vocational, Industrial Training Institute, and 3-year diploma courses): Hostellers receive ₹570/- per month (₹5,700/- annually), and day scholars receive ₹300/- per month (₹3,000/- annually). For Group IV (Post-matriculation non-degree courses): Hostellers receive ₹380/- per month (₹3,800/- annually), and day scholars receive ₹230/- per month (₹2,300/- annually). Additional Disability Allowance Specially-abled hosteller students receive an additional allowance of ₹800/- per month (₹9,600/- annually). Specially-abled day scholar students receive an additional allowance of ₹600/- per month (₹7,200/- annually). Benefit Disbursal Details The scholarship amounts are disbursed exclusively through the Direct Benefit Transfer mode directly into the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The stipend is payable monthly, calculated from 1st April or from the month of admission, whichever is later, until the month in which the annual examinations are completed. Conditions for Availment and Continuation The continuous disbursement of the scholarship is strictly dependent on the satisfactory academic progress, good conduct, and regularity in attendance of the enrolled scholars. The scholarship will be immediately cancelled or withheld if the student resorts to strikes or maintains irregular attendance without formal permission from the institution authorities. The scholarship will not be renewed if the student fails in a particular academic year, and the benefits will be paused until the student clears that class and gets promoted to the next class.

The UP scholarship program was started by the state of Uttar Pradesh to increase literacy rates and generate a skilled youth force to boost social and economic growth.

The “Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme-Bihar” aims to provide financial assistance to eligible students from Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) for their post-secondary education.

Benefit: Scholarship and maintenance allowance will be payable on the basis of the criteria prescribed in the resolution issued by the Government of India from time to time.
